Dubai Tech Hiring Salary Report 2026
Dubai Tech Hiring Salary Report 2026What companies actually pay engineers, data leaders and tech executives in the UAE.
Compiled from Meettal placement data, public salary sources, and conversations with Dubai based candidates and hiring managers in the first half of 2026.
Why we built this
Most public salary guides for Dubai understate the top end by 15 to 30 percent. They pull from anonymous self reports, which skew toward mid market and early stage data. The closes we see at funded fintech, DIFC regulated firms, and major banks routinely sit well above what aggregators report.
This report triangulates three sources to give you a working benchmark you can actually use. Not a definitive answer. Useful for orientation. The judgement is what wins hires.

Salary ranges at a glance
Indicative gross monthly salary ranges in AED, published in June 2026. Each range applies to the role and seniority shown. Employer type, technical specialization and the complete compensation package affect the offer.
| Role | Gross monthly salary range (AED) | Note from the report |
|---|---|---|
| Mid-level software engineer | AED 18,000 to 30,000 | Strong mid-level engineers with cloud or distributed systems experience trend toward the upper end. |
| Senior software engineer | AED 30,000 to 50,000 | Fintech and DIFC firms often go above AED 60,000 for strong product engineers. |
| Data scientist or data engineer | AED 20,000 to 38,000 | Senior ML and AI specialists with production experience can move above AED 50,000. |
| Cybersecurity specialist | AED 18,000 to 55,000 | Cloud security, SOC, SIEM and compliance experience commands a 20 to 50 percent premium. |
| Senior infrastructure or DevOps | AED 30,000 to 55,000 | Strong SRE profiles with on-call discipline and Kubernetes depth sit near the top. |
| Cloud architect | AED 35,000 to 60,000 | AWS or Azure certified architects in regulated industries often exceed AED 70,000. |
| Engineering manager | AED 35,000 to 65,000 | Funded fintech and scale-ups pay materially above this for managers with hiring track records. |
| Cybersecurity architect or CISO | AED 50,000 to 100,000+ | Regulated industries and banks pay significantly above this. |
| CTO (early stage or mid-sized) | AED 60,000 to 90,000 | Plus equity in most early-stage cases. |
| VP Engineering | AED 70,000 to 130,000 | Depends on team size, P&L exposure, and whether the role owns hiring. |
| CTO (established Dubai tech firm) | AED 100,000 to 180,000 | Fintechs, DIFC-regulated companies and serious regional hubs sit in this range or above. |
| Regional technology leader (MENA) | AED 100,000 to 200,000+ | Major banks, semi-government entities and large multinationals sit at the top of this range. |
Ranges reflect strong mid- to senior-level candidates with relevant industry exposure. Junior and trainee profiles sit below them; specialist and leadership profiles often sit above. The report covers allowances, bonus and other benefits separately, as part of the complete compensation package.
Three things to know
- Total compensation matters more than base salary. Visa support, housing allowance, schooling, annual flights and bonus structure shape the offer as much as the headline number.
- The top end is higher than public guides suggest. At funded fintechs, DIFC-regulated firms and major banks, the closes we see sit 15 to 30 percent above what aggregator guides report.
- Speed wins only when the process is clear. Dubai candidates move quickly and drop quickly. A short process can fail when feedback and decision rights are unclear; a longer one can win when each stage has a purpose.
How this report’s numbers were built
This report combines three inputs: salary outcomes from completed Meettal placements and offers in the Dubai market over the twelve months before publication; public aggregators, cross-referenced against Glassdoor, Levels.fyi, Indeed, PayScale, and the Hays and Cooper Fitch 2026 UAE guides; and ongoing conversations with hiring managers, CTOs and candidates across DIFC, ADGM, fintech, banking and tech. The ranges support budgeting and initial benchmarking. They don’t replace a calibrated conversation about a specific role.
